Mark Ruffalo in “The Kids Are All Right”
At Callicoon Theatre

Delaware Valley Arts Alliance and the Callicoon Theater present The Kids Are All Right, starring Annette Bening, Julianne Moore, and Callicoon’s own Mark Ruffalo. The film opens Friday, April 20 at 7:30 p.m.
Nic (Bening) and Jules (Moore) are a middle-aged couple with two teenage children, Joni (Mia Wasikowska) and Laser (Josh Hutcherson), each conceived by donor insemination. As Joni prepares to leave for college, 15-year-old Laser presses her for a big favor. He wants Joni, now 18, to help him find their biological father. But once the kids seek out the freewheeling Paul (Ruffalo), the family dynamic gets re-defined, and then re-defined again. The Kids Are All Right is directed by Lisa Cholodenko (High Art), from a screenplay she co-wrote with Stuart Blumberg.
“This is one of the most compelling and rewarding portraits of a middle-class American marriage in cinema history, as well as one of the funniest,” says Andrew O’Hehir of Salon.com. Lisa Schwarzbaum of Entertainment Weekly calls the film “irresistable” and Ruffalo “sexy as hell.”
The Kids are All Right is rated R and will screen nightly at 7:30 p.m. Friday, August 20Thursday, August 26 with matinees at 2 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, August 21 and 22 at the Callicoon Theater, 30 Upper Main St, Callicoon, NY. Admission is $9. Mondays and matinees $6.
A film series of independent, foreign and/or art films, CineArt is co-sponsored by Delaware Valley Arts Alliance and the Callicoon Theater. Monthly screenings are held at the Callicoon Theater, Main Street, Callicoon, New York.
Admission is $9. Mondays and matinees are $6. A percentage of the profits and $1 per person from ticket sales benefit the programs and services of the Delaware Valley Arts Alliance, the Arts Council for Sullivan County.
