Special Encore Screening
Due to popular demand, Delaware Valley Arts Alliance presents a special encore screening of the Best of DIGIT 2007, on Saturday, November 3 at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. at the Krause Recital Hall, Delaware Arts Center, 37 Main Street, Narrowsburg, NY. Admission is by donation.
In genres ranging from experimental to documentary, animation to narrative, these digital videos were made by artists employing new technology such as digital cameras, phones, and sound equipment—incorporated with traditional art forms—to explore exciting new varieties of expression. Highlights of the program include Jason Harrington’s animated video The Tree With The Lights In It, exploring the concept of perception through hand-drawn computer animation; Alexia De Ville’s Astral Chorus, an experimental narrative that incorporates photography and drawing; and Best of Show winner Kun-I Chang’s FISSION, which combines the techniques of live action compositing, 2D animation, and rotoscoping.
The program will also feature four “Visions of Narrowsburg” digital movies, all shot, edited, and screened during this year’s event. All four movies are under 3 minutes in length and used Narrowsburg as the setting.
DIGIT is an annual digital media exposition, sponsored by the DVAA, encouraging creative and technical excellence and experimentation among individual artists working with digital tools. The Fourth Annual DIGIT Media Exposition was held September 14–16, 2007 in Narrowsburg, NY and included screenings of the best and brightest artists working in digital media today.
